<p>About the job<br /> BD – ENR Sector, Africa</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Title: Business Development – ENR, Africa</p> <p>Location: TBC in Africa (Flexible within Africa)</p> <p>Reports to: Africa Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) Sector Lead</p> <p>Level: Associate Director</p> <p>Role Summary</p> <p>The Business Development (BD) professional for Energy &amp; Natural Resources (ENR) will be responsible for driving sector-specific growth initiatives, client engagement, and market development strategies within Africa ENR Sector. This role requires a proactive, strategic, and relationship-driven approach to expand KPMG’s footprint in the ENR sector. The individual will work closely with sector leadership, client service teams, and other key stakeholders to execute the ENR sector programme and related initiatives.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Sector Strategy and Growth Execution:</p> <p>Support the Africa ENR Sector Lead in developing and executing the Energy &amp; Natural Resources sector strategy across key markets in Africa.<br /> Identify and assess growth opportunities within Oil &amp; Gas, Mining, Utilities, and Renewable Energy sectors.<br /> Assist in developing targeted business development plans and initiatives to strengthen KPMG’s position in the ENR industry.</p> <p>Client Relationship Management</p> <p>Establish and maintain strong relationships with key ENR clients, industry leaders, and decision-makers.<br /> Support client account teams in driving strategic conversations, identifying opportunities, and developing tailored solutions.<br /> Organize client engagements, roundtables, and sector-focused events to strengthen KPMG’s visibility and thought leadership.</p> <p>Market Intelligence And Insights</p> <p>Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to inform business development strategies.<br /> Conduct market research and analysis to support the development of industry-relevant propositions.<br /> Provide insights to leadership on emerging risks, challenges, and opportunities in the ENR sector.</p> <p>Collaboration And Internal Coordination</p> <p>Work closely with the ENR leadership team, country practice teams, and service line leaders to ensure alignment with the overall Africa ENR strategy.<br /> Partner with Marketing, Communications, and Proposal teams to develop sector-specific collateral, thought leadership, and client engagement materials.<br /> Drive cross-border collaboration to enhance KPMG’s regional ENR sector presence and service delivery.<br /> Collaborate with Clients and Markets teams and Account Leads to drive targeted business development initiatives and strengthen client relationships.</p> <p>Proposal Development And Go-to-Market Initiatives</p> <p>Support the development of client proposals, pitch presentations, and sector-focused value propositions.<br /> Assist in shaping sector-led campaigns and initiatives aimed at driving revenue growth.<br /> Engage in bid management and proposal processes to enhance the firm’s success in ENR sector opportunities.</p> <p>Key Skills &amp; Competencies</p> <p>Strong understanding of the Energy &amp; Natural Resources industry, including oil &amp; gas, mining, utilities, and renewable energy trends.<br /> Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, and market expansion.<br /> Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies.<br /> Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.<br /> Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.<br /> Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.</p> <p>Qualifications &amp; Experience</p> <p>Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy Management, Economics, or a related field.<br /> Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in business development, energy &amp; natural resources, consulting, or a related field.<br /> Prior experience in a professional services firm or energy sector institution is advantageous.<br /> Strong track record of driving business growth and strategic initiatives within the ENR sector.</p> <p>Why Join KPMG?</p> <p>Opportunity to work with a leading professional services firm with a strong presence in Africa’s Energy &amp; Natural Resources sector.<br /> Exposure to high-profile clients and industry-leading projects.<br /> A dynamic and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and excellence.</p>
