About nepf

Complex transformation doesn't require a large firm. It requires the right people, a modern approach, and an unrelenting focus on results.

nepf is a boutique management consulting firm that does just this. We work with Fortune 1000 companies on their most pressing challenges — M&A integration, AI and digital transformation, enterprise change management, and operating model redesign. We've led the integration program for six multi-billion-dollar acquisitions in life sciences, helped a 50,000-person company build an enterprise change management strategy from scratch, and designed an AI-enabled operating model for a Fortune 100 biopharma R&D organization. We move quickly, tailor everything to the client’s reality, and measure ourselves by the results we deliver.

Our founder, Andrea Schnepf, brings 20+ years of experience, including 14 years at Accenture, where she built and led the global Digital Talent & Organization practice. That background shapes everything — the standard we hold ourselves to, the clients we attract, and the way we develop our people.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Consulting Manager to lead business transformation engagements for our clients — large, complex organizations navigating significant change — with experience combining functional process knowledge with both program and change management expertise.

The right person is equally comfortable in the details of a project plan and standing in front of a senior leadership team with a recommendation. They can assess situations quickly, take ownership proactively, and bring both rigor and strong judgment to everything they do.

You will own the work, not just support it. You will design pragmatic approaches, develop implementation plans, and drive the delivery of transformational initiatives that produce tangible results. Partnering closely with senior stakeholders, you will proactively identify risks and dependencies, facilitate cross-functional decision-making, and deliver change management interventions that land with impact.

Your expertise will be visible — and valued. We promote on performance, not tenure, with twice-yearly reviews and clear criteria. Many people who join nepf made a deliberate decision to leave a larger firm for something different — the quality of the work without the politics, the growth without the waiting.

You will grow professionally, building new capabilities in a dynamic environment. This role also offers direct exposure to the AI-enabled consulting offerings nepf is bringing to market — a real opportunity to build AI fluency and develop the skills to lead in a rapidly shifting market.

What You'll Do

Lead transformation programs end-to-end. Own full delivery of complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives — project planning, stakeholder management, issue resolution, resource coordination, and decision documentation. Accountable for outcomes, not just activities.

Be a trusted partner to our clients. Build strong relationships. Bring strategic perspective and hands-on execution to help clients think through their most difficult challenges, and then do the work to solve them.

Drive change that actually lands. Develop and execute change management and communications strategies that address the people side of transformation. Go beyond the plan — understand what's blocking adoption and address it directly.

Develop the consultants around you. Mentor and manage junior team members, giving direct, actionable feedback and investing meaningfully in their growth.

Contribute to nepf's growth. Support business development — identifying opportunities, shaping proposals, and helping bring nepf's innovative AI-enabled offerings to market.

What We're Looking For

6+ years of client-facing consulting experience

Proven delivery on enterprise-wide transformation programs at large organizations (5,000+ employees)

Solid change management experience — you’ve guided organizations through real transitions, not just documented plans

Strong experience in managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You have a strong track record of delivering results with excellence

Experience working in global or multi-geography environments

A clear, confident communicator — you write well, present credibly, can read a room and are adept at building strong client relationships

What sets strong candidates apart

A solid consulting track record and the agility to thrive in a boutique environment — you take ownership, can operate with less infrastructure, and don't wait to be told what to do next

Enthusiasm for driving transformational change with a strong understanding of the people, processes, and technologies that drive at least one corporate back-office function (e.g., HR, Finance, IT, etc.), ideally within the life sciences sector

AI fluency and genuine curiosity about how AI is changing consulting delivery

Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in a relevant field such as business, psychology, or a related discipline

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, with the ability to leverage these tools for data analysis and client presentations

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $160K–$190K per annum base, commensurate with experience

Yearly Performance bonus: up to 10%

401(k): Employer match — 100% on the first 3%, 50% on the next 2%

Time off: 20 days PTO + at least 10 Paid Holidays + 6 Paid Sick Days

Health: PPO Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability

Flexibility: Digital first, fully remote — no mandatory commute or office days

Mentorship: Direct access to consulting leaders with Big 4 and top-firm backgrounds

Growth: Monthly check-ins and twice-yearly reviews with clear, transparent criteria

Team: Annual company retreat and regular team events

Location

Based primarily in California, we operate as a distributed team across the continental U.S. This role may require working West Coast or East Coast hours depending on client needs.

How to Get Started

If this sounds like a good fit, please apply with your resume that illustrates your qualifications for this role.
