The intern will have an unique experience working closely with a small team comprised of other Analysts, Traders, and Portfolio Managers. He/she will work under the guidance of a Senior Research Analyst.

As of September 30th, 2025, Templeton Global Macro managed $16.98 billion in assets, while total assets under management for the company were over $1.65 trillion. Dr. Michael Hasenstab has led the team since 2001. Templeton Global Macro specializes in sovereign debt investing, utilizing a research-intensive, fundamentals-based approach to capitalize on inefficiencies and capture long-term potential value across yield curves, currencies, and sovereign credit spreads. As a multicultural team built for cognitive diversity, Templeton Global Macro has been purposefully structured to bring together diverse cultures and experiences, political views, and economic schools of thought. As of September 30th, 2025, our team consists of 24 investment professionals including five Ph.D. economists. 13 different nationalities from five continents are represented, and 18 different languages are collectively spoken.

An intern in this department can expect to learn:

The intern will learn to Monitor current market developments within a region of the globe, gain a solid understanding of macroeconomics and politics, and conduct in-depth country macro analysis. At the end of the period the intern will present a written and oral country overview.

Key Responsibilities Can Include:

Conduct detailed macro-economic, sovereign credit, and political analysis as well as monitoring current market developments for a selected country.

Ideal Qualifications:

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

*A strong academic background and have completed their Junior year by the start of the internship.

*Working knowledge of one or more languages besides English.

*Experience living, traveling, or studying abroad.

*Solid understanding of macroeconomics and politics.

*Excellent written and oral communication skills

*Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and willingness to learn from others.

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 37.5 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $37 - $47 USD per hour, dependent on location, function, and year in school. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
