<div class="article__content"> <p><strong>What we are looking for</strong></p> <p>NRC is looking for a <strong>Health, Safety, and Security Manager</strong> to join the Bangladesh mission. The role holder will ensure compliance with the Health, Safety, and Security minimum standards and in reducing the overall risk on operations across the country. This will include developing and updating strategies, plans, and standard operating procedures, as well as providing mitigation measures for safe and secure programme access. The Health, Safety, and Security Manager will also be responsible for coordinating and conducting mandatory and other tailored training courses for the country office and area office.</p> <p>If you are an influential, analytical, and visionary leader; with strong communications, networking, and collaborative skills; and resilience and adaptability; as well as the dexterity to meet new challenges and navigate through insecure environments, then this is the role for you!</p> <p><strong>What you will do</strong></p> <ul> <li> <strong>Health, Safety, and Security management system</strong> implementation.</li> <li> <strong>Security risk analyses</strong> oversight.</li> <li> <strong>Strategic advice</strong> provision.</li> <li> <strong>Support provision</strong> during critical incidents and/or crises.</li> <li> <strong>Health, Safety, and Security strategy, budget, documents, procedures, etc.</strong> development, maintenance, and implementation.</li> <li> <strong>Support, manage, train, and develop</strong> staff.</li> <li> <strong>Report preparation</strong>.</li> <li> <strong>External stakeholder</strong> communication.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you will bring</strong></p> <ul> <li> <strong>Security management</strong> experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.</li> <li> <strong>NGO operations</strong> and the dynamics of a displacement-response context knowledge.</li> <li> <strong>Civilian and military interlocutors</strong> exposure.</li> <li> <strong>Conflict resolution and negotiation</strong> track record.</li> <li> <strong>Analytical</strong> expertise.</li> <li> <strong>Training and presentation</strong> demonstrable skills.</li> <li> <strong>Excellent communication skills, with English</strong> fluency, both written and verbal.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What makes this position attractive?</strong></p> <ul> <li>The opportunity to work in the steadily growing NRC mission of Bangladesh that has scaled up since inception in 2018 to respond to the Rohingya influx, and that has an increasingly growing portfolio and funding. NRC interventions are used to increase the acceptance of humanitarian assistance amongst Rohingya and Bangladeshi populations.</li> <li>In addition to the existing Rohingya refugee response, NRC’s integrated activities are addressing the impacts of displacement from climate change in Cox’s Bazar, in the North-East and South-West parts of Bangladesh. As of 2022, NRC is working to respond to severe floods in Sylhet. Bangladesh is one of the world’s most disaster-prone countries while also hosting nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees. This is considered a protracted emergency in which displacement and recurrent climate disasters combine.</li> <li>Meaningful work that responds to the diverse needs, priorities, and concerns raised by beneficiary communities. The current context is set against a backdrop of continued conflict in Rakhine State, steady attenuation of humanitarian access, and political pressure to repatriate refugees.
