Role Description

As a Medicare Planning Advisor (MPA), you will play a critical role in driving Florida Blue Medicare's membership growth. You will work closely with prospective and current members transitioning to Medicare or seeking a new Medicare plan, providing personalized guidance and support throughout their purchasing cycle. The MPA is a telephonic sales role and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Engage with Medicare prospects and existing members to educate and guide them in the sales process by assisting them in selecting and enrolling in a suitable Medicare and ancillary plan.
  • Develop and maintain long term relationships with an assigned base of existing Florida Blue members aging into Medicare, ensuring their healthcare needs are met.
  • Operate as a licensed telephonic sales agent, utilizing exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to drive sales growth and retention.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist prospective and existing FB members to find a Florida Blue Medicare plan by conducting a Needs Analysis and pitching an appropriate plan that will meet their healthcare needs including ancillary products and ultimately enrolling them telephonically.
  • Proactively educate current and prospective members aging into Medicare on Medicare basics, enrollment requirements, and penalties, with the goal of recommending a FB Medicare plan and assisting with the enrollment process.
  • Understand commercial plans for those aging in to ensure appropriate plan selection.
  • Retain membership after enrollment through a series of welcome calls educating the members on their new plans.
  • Support marketing campaigns via inbound and outbound telephonic sales calls.
  • Exceed New Sales quota, retention rates, telephonic service levels, and quality expectations.
  • Respond to sales inquiries from prospective and existing members regarding product offers and annual product changes.
  • Manage the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, welcome, engagement, retention and resale.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients for follow up buying decision and drive retention.
  • Identify and overcome buying obstacles from new customers and existing members.
  • Deliver best in class sales experience ensuring ongoing satisfaction and customer retention.

Relationship Building:

  • Nurture a sales lead through multiple touchpoints educating a prospective member and assisting them with the sales process as well as after the sale is completed.
  • Assist the prospective member by sharing plan information, explaining how the plan works, how their providers and medications are covered including their annual out of pocket expenses.
  • Correspond with prospects via e-mail, including sharing marketing materials as well as plan information.
  • Review various local and CMS programs available that can help reduce out-of-pocket costs as well as social programs available to them.
  • Schedule follow up appointments to continue educating prospective members on Medicare basics and FB plans over 6 to 12 months.
  • Deliver a best-in-class sales experience while advising the prospect during their transition into Medicare and finding a suitable plan.

Sales:

  • Answer inbound telephonic sales calls timely and accurately.
  • Adheres to compliant telephonic sales scripts and sales procedures.
  • Document all sales interactions on a customer relationship management platform.
  • Research and resolves disputes and problems within established guidelines.
  • Completes, processes and maintains applicable paperwork and records.
  • Facilitates application process and perform field UW process for appropriate product(s).

Administrative:

  • Complete all required annual training courses in a timely manner.
  • Follows attendance and schedule adherence policy.
  • Maintain a private workspace to ensure HIPAA/PHI compliance.
  • Contribute to the company’s community engagement initiatives through volunteer work.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years related work experience in a tele-sales environment selling Medicare and ancillary plans.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Requirements

  • Active Florida state health insurance license 2-15 Health, Life and Variable Annuities or 2-40 Health.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience using computers and navigating among multiple systems and screens as well as documenting information.
  • Experience with listening and relating key information to comparable selling situations to apply appropriate responses and actions.
  • The ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Call center experience as a Telesales agent.

General Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
