<p>Suffolk Constabulary is seeking a skilled and motivated <strong>MASH Decision Maker</strong> to join our <strong>Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)</strong> within the Vulnerable Persons Directorate.</p> <p>This is a challenging and rewarding role at the heart of safeguarding, where you will play a critical part in protecting <strong>children, young people and vulnerable adults</strong> by ensuring timely, informed and proportionate decision‑making at the point of referral.</p> <p>The MASH brings together key partner agencies to assess risk, share information and make safeguarding decisions in line with agreed thresholds and statutory responsibilities. As a MASH Decision Maker, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Critically assess child protection and adult safeguarding referrals in line with local and national thresholds</li> <li>Lead and accurately record multi‑agency strategy discussions and meetings</li> <li>Make well‑balanced, defensible decisions based on risk, vulnerability and available intelligence</li> <li>Provide advice and guidance to officers and staff making contact with the MASH</li> <li>Build and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, statutory and voluntary organisations</li> </ul> <p>You will be working with sensitive and often distressing material and will need to demonstrate professionalism, resilience and sound judgement at all times.</p> <h3>What We’re Looking For</h3> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience of multi‑agency investigations in Child Protection and/or Adult Safeguarding</li> <li>Strong decision‑making, analytical and critical‑thinking skills</li> <li>The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Experience of collating and assessing information from multiple sources to inform decisions</li> <li>Attention to detail and experience of accurate report writing</li> <li>The ability to deal professionally with sensitive and distressing subject matter</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding adults</li> </ul> <h3>Why Join Us?</h3> <p>You’ll be joining a dedicated safeguarding team where your decisions have real impact.
