Our values—urgency, ownership, and focus—shape how we build and who we are.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>THE OPPORTUNITY:</strong></h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">As a Contract Operations Coordinator at Brisk Teaching, you'll play a key role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly across finance, people, talent, and internal ops. You'll work hands-on across a broad range of recurring operational workflows—from accounts receivable and accounts payable to employee onboarding and office management—partnering closely with our Head of Operations and cross-functional stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to support a fast-growing, mission-driven edtech company where your work directly enables financial rigor, employee experience, and team productivity at scale.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>YOU WILL:</strong></h2><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Finance operations</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Own accounts receivable end-to-end, including billing, collections, and reconciliation.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and vendor payments.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Serve as liaison to our bookkeeper.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Administer our expense platform, including expense program enforcement, policy compliance, and user management.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>People operations, HR administration, and talent acquisition</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Coordinate the employee onboarding program.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Administer HRIS, including data entry, system updates, employee records maintenance, and HR compliance forms.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Schedule candidates for manager screens and virtual onsites.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Internal operations & vendor management</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Manage physical mail and office operations for our SF and NYC spaces.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Maintain the company knowledge base and Slack workspace.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Flex capacity</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Provide surge support during operational spikes (office moves, system migrations, audit prep).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Take on ad hoc projects as they emerge across the ops function.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>YOU HAVE:</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Exceptional attention to detail—you catch the billing discrepancy, the missed onboarding step, the expired COI before anyone else does.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong ability to context-switch and multi-task across parallel workstreams without dropping threads, and comfort holding many small open loops at once.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">3–5 years of relevant experience in operations, ideally spanning finance ops, people ops, talent ops, and/or general internal ops.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Availability to work 25–35 hours per week for ~3 months (contract may be extended longer depending on need).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Flexibility to maintain regular availability during overlapping U.S. business hours (approximately 10am–3pm PT).</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Ability to work independently, prioritize against ambiguous or shifting inputs, and handle confidential information (employee and financial data) with discretion.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><h2><strong>BONUS:</strong></h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Hands-on experience with finance operations workflows, including AR/AP, expense management, and coordinating with external bookkeepers or accounting firms.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Familiarity with HRIS/PEO administration (TriNet, Rippling, Justworks, or similar), including payroll audits, employee records, and leave administration.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience at a Series A/B-stage startup during a period of rapid headcount growth.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>Equal Employment Opportunity & Diversity</strong></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">At Brisk, we believe that diverse perspectives make better teams and stronger products.
