Job Summary

Pixar, a global leader in animated storytelling and visual innovation, is seeking a highly skilled Remote 3D Artist – Animation to join our creative team. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of high-quality 3D animated content, collaborating closely with animators, modelers, and technical artists to bring compelling characters and worlds to life. This remote position allows talented artists to work from anywhere while maintaining Pixar’s renowned standards of artistic excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create, refine, and implement 3D assets, models, textures, and animation-ready assets according to project requirements.
  • Collaborate with animators, lighting artists, and technical directors to ensure seamless integration of assets into the animation pipeline.
  • Assist in developing visually stunning environments, characters, and props that align with Pixar’s creative vision.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize 3D assets to maintain high-quality performance in animation sequences.
  • Stay updated with emerging 3D software, tools, and animation techniques to continuously enhance the quality of work.
  • Provide creative input during storyboarding, pre-visualization, and animation stages.
  • Participate in remote team meetings, reviews, and feedback sessions to maintain alignment on project goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in 3D software such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Houdini, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of character modeling, rigging, and texturing for animation purposes.
  • Excellent grasp of anatomy, proportion, and movement to support realistic or stylized animations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
  • Exceptional artistic sensibility with attention to detail, color, and composition.
  • Familiarity with rendering engines (e.g., RenderMan, Arnold, V-Ray) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to adapt assets for complex animation pipelines.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a 3D Artist in animation, film, or related industries.
  • Proven portfolio demonstrating expertise in 3D modeling, animation-ready assets, and creative storytelling.
  • Experience working on collaborative projects, preferably in a remote or hybrid production environment.
