<strong>Job Description</strong><br><br><strong>SPC Remote Operations Center (ROC) Specialist</strong><br><br>This position will function as part of the Southern Power Remote Operations Center (ROC), a 24x7 operation, which provides remote monitoring and operational support to the SPC renewable fleet of wind, solar, and BESS power plants across the country. The ROCSpecialist supports the ROC Supervisor in all aspects of ROC Operations. This includes but is not limited to; ROC Procedure Program, ROC Training and qualification program and supporting the continued enhancement of ROC systems and tools. The ROC specialist will ensure the ROC Team is set up for success as it relates to onboarding new sites into the ROC. The ROC Specialist is directly responsible for all QSE/Scheduling Coordinator/Market Participant duties that are not considered "Real-Time" obligations. This includes but is not limited to outage scheduling, testing coordination, outage ticket auditing, etc.<br><br>The ROC Specialist assists the General Manager and the ROC Supervisor on day-to-day operations and works closely with the ROC Operators to ensure they have all the tools and procedures needed for ROC & QSE scope and obligations. On occasion, the ROC Specialist may be required to support the ROC Shift schedule and fill a day or night shift to maintain 24*7*365 operations. The ROC Specialist will be assigned to lead or support various special projects. Project management skills, achieving deadlines and deliverables, communicating with leadership and across Operations is required. <br><br>This position is responsible for the following: <br><br><ul> <li>ROC ERCOT QSE/Scheduling Coordinator/Market Participant - outage process development and scheduling, derate reporting, telemetry coordination, procedure development and maintenance, document management</li> <li>ROC ERCOT QSE Training & Qualifications Program Manager</li> <li>New site readiness/mobilization</li> <li>PPA & LGIA Subject Matter Expert</li></ul><br><br>This position will closely support and interface with General Manager, ROC Supervisor, ROC Real Time Operators, Renewable Operations, Plant Operations, Southern Power Technology teams, and Asset Managers in these activities.<br><br>This position will be located at the Southern Power Remote Operations Center in Birmingham, AL and will be filled at a level and job classification commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.<br><br><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong><br><ul> <li>Knowledge in ERCOT Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) scope. </li> <li>Knowledge in CAISO, WECC, SPP, SERC, PJM</li> <li>Knowledge and experience in the areas of wind and/or solar power plant Operations is required, BESS is preferred </li> <li>Knowledge and experience in Power Purchase Agreements and Interconnection agreements is required. </li> <li>Experience with Marketing & OMS software (PCI, Versify, CROW, etc.) desired</li> <li>Hands-on experience with Plant SCADA systems and plant data historian (OSI PI, Ignition) - building trends and analyzing data - preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of and experience with different power generation technologies including gas, solar, wind and BESS is preferred.</li> <li>Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, and present data from multiple sources is desired (Excel, SQL+, etc.).</li> <li>Project Management experience is preferred. </li> <li>Experience in organizing and managing multiple projects at the same time. The hybrid work includes both in office and remote work opportunities.
