<div>The Global Services Cross-Platform Team is looking for a Senior Consultant for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. In this role, you will be a subject matter expert in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux ecosystem, including RHEL, Satellite, IPA, and Ansible automation. In this role, you won't be expected to know everything on day one, but your ability to learn new technology quickly will be essential. This is a remote-based job that can be located anywhere in the U.S. within close proximity to an airport. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.<br/><br/>As a Red Hat Sr. Consultant on the global services team, you will influence without authority, working with technical leadership, platform practice leads, and global delivery teams to establish delivery methodologies and standards that ensure excellence and consistency within the RHEL services solutions. You are expected to work closely with Services Geos, Engineering, and Support to deliver first-of-a-kind projects for customers.<br/><br/>This role reports directly to the Global Director, Red Hat Services Cross Platform Leader, and supports both the global and geo services teams. <br/><br/><b>Note</b>: This role may come into contact with confidential or sensitive customer information requiring special treatment in accordance with Red Hat policies and applicable privacy laws.<br/><br/><strong>What you will do:</strong><br/><br/><strong>Red Hat Enterprise Linux Delivery</strong><br/><ul><li>Implement the Red Hat Enterprise Linux portfolio, including RHEL, Satellite, IPA, Insights, and Red Hat Ligthspeed. </li><li>Learn new technologies quickly, including system management, automation, and new operating system features. </li><li>Travel frequently to work alongside our customers and geo delivery teams. </li><li>Subject matter expert in the RHEL portfolio, from installation, configuration, and day-2 operations of platforms. </li><li>Deploy and configure RHEL clusters (Pacemaker) to support highly available applications (e.g., SAP HANA).</li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, with a strong hands-on focus - addressing technical, development, and strategic IT requirements through hands-on implementation and direct engagement</li><li>Understand industry practices and Red Hat's policies, procedures, and values.</li><li>Demonstrate good judgment in selecting the best methods to obtain a solution.</li><li>Team up with our customers to rapidly build application prototypes using modern application development practices and open source emerging technologies</li><li>Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals</li><li>Contribute to project documentation and diagrams, including ticket or bug management</li><li>Mentor and share your knowledge with customers and the existing team</li><li>Define and promote the adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market</li><li>Implement solutions using design principles, integration points, and automation methods</li><li>Handle tough problems innovatively.</li></ul><br/><br/><strong>Solutions</strong><br/><ul><li>Lead the creation and validation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux solutions, from detailed delivery guides to task lists. </li><li>Subject Matter expert on the Services Portfolio. </li><li>Work alongside the Services Portfolio Manager to maintain existing solutions.</li></ul><strong>What you will bring:</strong><br/><ul><li>Associates' or Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a technical discipline</li><li>Red Hat Certified: RHCE (RHCA preferred) </li><li>Experience leading successful modern platform and cloud platform enterprise-level projects</li><li>Bare-Metal Infrastructure: Deep Linux (RHEL) and automated hardware provisioning (BIOS/UEFI, RAID, BMC/Redfish, Kickstart/Cobbler).</li><li>Advanced Networking: L2/L3 concepts, DHCP/DNS, Load Balancing, CNI (OVN-K, Calico, SR-IOV), and network security/firewall policies.</li><li>Storage: Distributed/local storage, RAID/NVMe, performance tuning, and data management/DR (Velero, OADP, Ceph/ODF).</li><li>Kubernetes/OpenShift: Cluster architecture, lifecycle management (IPI/UPI, Kubeadm), bare-metal deployment patterns (Metal3, Ironic), Day-2 operations, Operators, and GitOps.</li><li>Automation & IaC: Strong proficiency in Ansible and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm). Scripting (Bash, Python, Go).</li><li>Security & Compliance: Linux hardening (RBAC, SCC, network policies, TLS/PKI), and compliance standards (NIST, CIS).</li><li>Observability: Logging/monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and advanced platform/network troubleshooting (etcd, kernel, tcpdump).</li><li>Additional technologies a plus: OpenShift, OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure</li><li>Experience across one or more vertical industry areas</li><li>Ability to lead design workshops, create clear documentation, and provide knowledge transfer for Day-0/1/2 planning.</li><li>Demonstrated track record of working in a strategic advisory role to senior IT and business executives</li><li>Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams</li><li>Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills</li><li>Willingness to travel to customer locations about 20-30 weeks per year on average (this is a global role).</li><li>English, and ideally, other language skills.</li><li>Ability to travel internationally.</li></ul><br/><br/><strong>Nice to have:</strong><br/><ul><li>Appreciation of and passion for open-source software</li><li>Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux</li><li>Experience with Red Hat's technology portfolio</li><li>Previous experience as a consultant or solutions architect</li></ul><br/><br/>The salary range for this position is $118,600.00 - $195,680.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.<br/><br/><b>Pay Transparency</b><br/><br/>Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. <br/><br/>
