Our client is successful, stable, and growing! This is a brand new role and critical role, focusing on sourcing and procurement support for product categories / projects. Location is North of Philadelphia, and relocation assistance is available.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will

  • play a critical role in the identification and development of supplier base in North America -including USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and Caribbean's.
  • be a dynamic, team leader with highest of recommendations from his direct reports and suppliers....looking to build his/her own team.
  • work closely with New Product Development and Engineering in managing electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical components from RFQ stage, business award, and prototype through serial production.
  • experience high visibility and have the chance to be a part of the growing Global Supply Chain Team.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of Supplier Development / Procurement experience working in an Automotive (OEM/Tier1) or high-tech manufacturing industry.
  • BS/BA in engineering, business or technical discipline. MBA is a plus.
  • Extensive in-country experience sourcing products and components from best cost regions including USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and Caribbean's.
  • Ability to lead strategic sourcing, vendor development/management, RFX events, advanced sourcing, new product introduction, pricing and terms negotiations.
  • Willingness to travel 25% - 50%.
Preferred experience (listed in priority)
  • Managing the Category Mgt/Strategic Sourcing Process for assigned spend categories such as plastics, steel forgings, electronic assemblies. (Could also be listed by product lines such as chassis, body, engine etc.)
  • Automotive experience (OEM or aftermarket) highly desired, but if the parts sourced seem similar in construction (machined metal parts, plastic parts, electronics, small appliances, etc.) OK
  • Hands on experience sourcing from best-cost regions including USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and Caribbean's.
  • Driving YoY total cost of ownership savings and supplier performance improvement for assigned categories/suppliers
