<b>Job Description</b>Job Description<p>With over 70 years of operating experience, Primoris Power Delivery services include engineering and design, installation and maintenance, material and equipment procurement, repair of electrical transmission, distribution, substation, wireless communication, and storm restoration. Our experience ranges from small engineering and consulting projects to multi-million dollar turn-key distribution, substation, and transmission line programs.</p><p>We are currently looking for a <b>Substation CAD Designer </b>to join the team!</p><p>Performing drafting duties for medium/high voltage substation or transmission line projects. Assignments are closely supervised to build understanding of drafting techniques, corporate/client standards, and procedures. Employees are dedicated to specific design areas.</p><ul><li><b>Revise CAD drawings:</b> Update drawings based on engineering markups.</li><li><b>Perform engineering support tasks:</b> Handle tasks like transmittals under direct supervision.</li><li><b>Learn and apply standards:</b> Apply Primoris/client drafting and engineering practices.</li><li><b>Use document management systems:</b> Learn and utilize systems for handling project documents.</li><li><b>Ensure quality:</b> Take ownership of work accuracy and quality.</li><li><b>Identify issues:</b> Report potential problems and solutions to supervisors.</li><li><b>Travel:</b> Occasional short-term out-of-town travel for projects.</li><li><b>Other duties:</b> As assigned by management.</li></ul><p><b>Minimum Qualifications & Experience</b></p><p><b>Education:</b></p><ul><li>Associate degree in drafting & design (preferred).</li><li>Certificate in CAD drafting & design + relevant experience may substitute.</li></ul><p><b>Required Skills:</b></p><ul><li><b>General experience</b> as a CAD Designer supporting <b>substation</b> or <b>power delivery</b> projects</li><li><b>AutoCAD Experience:</b> AutoCAD 2010 or newer (required).</li><li><b>Drafting Skills:</b> Basic knowledge of drawing scales, layouts (Paperspace/Modelspace), and accurately reproducing engineering markups.</li><li><b>Other Software:</b> Proficiency in CAD, word processing, spreadsheets, and email.</li><li><b>Math:</b> College-level geometry.</li><li><b>Soft Skills:</b> Ability to work in a team environment; effective written and verbal communication.</li></ul><p><b>Preferred Skills:</b></p><ul><li>Microstation experience.</li><li>3D CAD experience.</li></ul><p><b>EEO Statement:</b></p><p>We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.</p><p><b>Third Party Agency Notice:</b></p><p>Primoris will not accept any unsolicited resumes from any third-party recruiting agencies either domestic or international.
