The Area Sales Manager leads a team of experienced outside sales professionals or outside sales team leaders, overseeing outside sales activities and ensuring short to medium term objectives and goals for teams are met. Develops outside sales plans in support of discipline and influences leadership on critical outside sales strategies. Role Purpose Lead aftermarket parts sales and service activities across the Northeast U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Oversee and develop a team of Regional Service Managers and an Inside Sales Representative to ensure strong execution and market coverage. Drive revenue growth through HVAC wholesale distributors and applied product representative firms. Ensure alignment between Carrier’s aftermarket strategy, distributor performance, and rep firm execution. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through coordinated support, field engagement, and cross functional collaboration. Utilize CRM tools, reporting systems, and market analysis to support data driven decision making and accurate forecasting. Role Responsibilities Lead, coach, and manage Regional Service Managers and an Inside Sales Representative. Conduct joint field visits, performance reviews, and ongoing development activities for team members. Manage HVAC wholesale distributors, including stocking programs, incentive structures, and compliance with Carrier initiatives. Conduct distributor business reviews, monitor performance metrics, and ensure accurate forecasting. Oversee 6–10 representative firms focused on Carrier Applied products, ensuring strategic and technical alignment. Conduct rep firm performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as needed. Coordinate with Carrier technical resources to support rep firms and customer requirements. Achieve assigned aftermarket parts sales quota for the region. Identify market opportunities and implement strategies to increase aftermarket revenue and market share. Maintain disciplined use of Salesforce for CRM management, pipeline tracking, and reporting. Prepare and deliver sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses. Support customer engagement activities, including joint sales calls and field visits. Ensure adherence to Carrier processes, policies, and documentation standards. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 8 years of experience with HVAC sales. Minimum of 3 years of experience with Salesforce or any other CRM. Valid Driver’s license. Ability to travel up to 50%. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field (preferred). Experience in aftermarket parts, distributor management, and applied HVAC equipment. Prior experience managing field sales or service teams. Strong analytical skills with experience in sales reporting and market analysis. Experience working with representative firms in the applied HVAC channel (preferred). Technical understanding of applied HVAC systems such as chillers, rooftops, AHUs, and controls (preferred). Bilingual capability in Spanish or French (preferred but not required). Pay Range The annual salary for this position is between $117,500.00 - $234,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. Other Compensation This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
