This position reports to Market Development Manager - Food & Beverage Your role and responsibilities The Business Development Manager will work closely with the largest players in the F&B, Datacenters, Renewable Energy, Water/Wastewater & Infrastructure market segments, building long term relationships with the key stakeholders, securing ABB ELIP products as the preferred solution, and helping drive the profitability growth of the business. In this role, the Business Development Manager will spend a considerable amount of time visiting end-user customers and other key decision makers to understand the customer's needs, applications and specify ABB's products. The successful candidate will ensure the execution of the defined market plan, reporting and keeping constant contact with the Market Development Manager. While this is a remote position, successful candidates should be located in either the Atlanta, GA metro area, or a metro area in Florida. This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products Division in the South Region. You will be mainly accountable for: Market: understands segment customer needs and proposes solutions from the ABB ELIP product portfolio; helps the sales team to deliver winning value propositions to penetrate and win market share within the target segments. Researches and discovers market segment information via customer engagement to identify trends, issues, and other relevant information to determine specific requirements that may affect product development and marketing strategies. Provides market intelligence to Market Development Manager in support of identification and development of new opportunities and channels. Participates in internal work groups to share know-how. Customer Relations and Satisfaction: builds and maintains strong relationships with new and existing market segment customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and business growth Specification: identifies, targets and develops relationships with new end-users, engineering firms, OEMs, and other decision makers to achieve spec position for ABB ELIP products. Training: Deliver technical support, hands-on training and CEU training to all relevant stakeholders in their market segment, both externally and internally. Sales: Collaborates with all related internal contacts, such as Market Development Manager, Sales, and Product Management to ensure alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness in the implementation of the commercial strategy. Ensures achievement of sales targets within the market segment through implementation of the defined go to market strategy. Qualifications for the role * BS/BA in business, marketing, engineering, or related fields required. * 5+ years of experience in technical specification/product marketing in the electrical industry, preferably in the Transportation & Industrial OEM markets. * Track record of new customer/business development. Experience with strong customer relations via specification, visits, training, etc. * Ability to develop an understanding of the product portfolio and how it is applied to the market segment, in order to provide value-added solutions. * Strong analysis and problem-solving skills. * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. * Candidate must be willing to travel ~ 50% of the time. * Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.
