We’re fully remote and hire across Canada and the U.S. About the role Numbers tell a story, and as ZayZoon's Senior Controller, you'll be the one making sure that story is clear, accurate, and trusted across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll own the financial reporting function end-to-end, from the monthly close cycle to audit delivery and everything in between. You'll lead our accounting team, build out the processes and controls that keep us on solid footing, and be a real partner to the business, not just the person who signs off on the numbers. Your impact Lead all core accounting operations, including the general ledger, month-end close, and IFRS/GAAP-compliant financial reporting Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A, and continuous disclosure filings, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership Own the external audit process from start to finish, managing auditor relationships and keeping deliverables on track Build and maintain strong internal controls, including segregation of duties and approval frameworks, that scale with the business Manage multi-entity accounting, intracompany eliminations, and SPV structures to support reliable consolidated reporting Lead, coach, and grow the accounting team, creating an environment where people feel supported and do their best work Use data analytics and financial modelling to surface insights and support smarter decision-making across the business Identify opportunities to improve and scale financial processes as ZayZoon grows, and bring forward practical solutions You bring CPA designation 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role Deep knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP A track record of managing month-end close, audits, financial reporting, and internal controls in a fast-moving environment Comfort with multi-entity structures and intracompany accounting Strong attention to detail and a controls-oriented mindset, without losing sight of the bigger picture Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights Curiosity around AI and financial automation with a strong technical literacy Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of listed criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box.
